The Laboratory was established for the purpose:

1. To collect and maintain ornamental plants suitable for propagation in Cambodia

2. To research basic plant tissue culture technique for Ornamental plants Fruit trees, and Industrial plants

3. To provide plant tissue culture techniques to the students of UBB

4. To produce disease free plantlets through meristem culture techniques to solve farm problems
