Abstract

The topic “Change of living standards of the citizens of the three cultural tourism villages in Battambang” was studied to be aware of history, general situation, and impact on people’s living standard in three cultural tourism villages before and after the cultural village building.

After preparing and conducting the research, data was organized into data analysis methods. Those samples included three villages, which located in Watkor commune at Battambang City, consist of ninety-six respondents of interviewees. The collected data was analyzed in the statistical methods by using Microsoft and SPSS programs and had been described detail in Microsoft Word application.

The results showed that a few citizens got a job for their family before the cultural village building because they cannot find a job. On the other hand, people were getting more jobs and benefit from tourism after the cultural village building. And also they can earn more money for their family. Furthermore, there were many national and international tourist arrivals in 2009 compared to the last year.

At the end, this study provides the next generation of researchers with the awareness of our culture values and enlarges their knowledge about cultural tourism and it is particularly kept as document for the next researcher.
